We’re so excited to announce that for the next four weeks (starting from the 21st of February 2022), Trombone Shorty’s Mardi Gras channel will be available on Jazz FM Premium.
One of the biggest names to emerge from New Orleans in recent years, Trombone Shorty will be bringing the party vibes direct from his home in the Big Easy for a month-long takeover (21st February - 20th March 2022) with Mardi Gras itself celebrated on Tuesday 1st March.
Along the way, Trombone Shorty will be telling us about some of the great traditions, the food, the carnivals and everything associated with “Fat Tuesday” in Louisiana.
Expect to hear a hand-picked selection of NOLA music from Professor Longhair, Jon Cleary, Irma Thomas, Dr. John and countless more iconic players.
The channel coincides with a new Blue Note album called Lifted announced by Trombone Shorty (real name Troy Andrews) on Friday the 18th of February. The first single ‘Come Back’ has been added straight to Jazz FM’s ‘A List’ and he’s confirmed a four-date UK tour in May 2022.
