Bowled over by her half time performance at the Super Bowl on Sunday night, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian says he wants to join musical forces with Lady Gaga.

One of hundreds of millions of TV viewers across the globe watching the pop singer’s extravagant performance, Scott took to Twitter to suggest merging their talents.

He wrote: “Goddamn @ladygaga, you killed it. Let's make a metal record.”

Apparently receiving the blessing of the entire band, the official Anthrax Twitter page later retweeted Scott’s comment.

Scott’s proposal was met with an overwhelming positive response from Anthrax fans, with one writing: “In the name of god and all that is holy, please make this happen immediately.”

Another said: “I have been saying for years she should do a metal album. It would be awesome.”

On the other side of the spectrum, naysayers didn’t see the funny side: “you're joking right? Hopefully you are being sarcastic.”

Anthrax kick off their UK tour this week where they’ll be performing their seminal album ‘Among The Living’ in its glorious entirety to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

Many shows are completely sold out, however, there are some select tickets available from Kerrang! Radio Tickets now.
