Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has unveiled his first new song in more than 10 years, entitled ‘Rock The Rock’.

The track features in an episode of the kid’s TV show ‘New Looney Tunes’, which airs on the Boomerang streaming service.

Featuring an animated Axl Rose, the scene called ‘Armageddon Outta Here, Part Two’ sees the singer ask cartoon legends Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig how to get to a gig venue where he is due to perform with his band Steel Underpants.

However, after receiving directions, disaster ensues when a giant asteroid speeds towards earth threatening to obliterate the entire planet.

Fortunately, Axl has some speakers with him that have the ability to "shake mountains to the ground" and he proceeds to perform ‘Rock The Rock’ with Porky Pig on bass duties and Bugs Bunny playing the riffs.

The gargantuan sound emanating from the speakers soon blows up the asteroid and saves the world.

‘Rock The Rock’ is the first new musical morsel from Axl Roses since Guns N’ Roses’ ‘Chinese Democracy’ back in November 2008.

However, despite lending his vocals to ‘Rock The Rock’, Axl didn’t in fact write it. The song is registered on BMI as having been written by Joshua Funk and Rob Janas.

Guns N’ Roses are yet to release any new material since Slash and Duff McKagan rejoined the fold in early 2016.

16 Rock and Metal albums to look forward to in 2019:

Rammstein - TBA

Frankly, April can't come quick enough for that's when Rammstein's long awaited seventh studio album is expected to drop. It'll be almost a decade since the release of 'Liebe ist für alle da' and we're needing plenty of new sounds. Factor in that Milton Keynes gig at MK Stadium in July and 2019 could well be theirs for the taking.

Last month, guitarist Richard Fortus strongly suggested the band’s eagerly awaited new studio album could be coming very soon.

“We’re going to try and do another record and get it out soon. The band’s so great right now,” Fortus told KSHE.95.

“I think it will happen faster than you think. I sure hope it happens faster than you think.”

Confirming a single “could definitely” be released in 2019, Fortus was then asked if Guns N’ Roses have already started laying down new material.

He responded: “Maybe. There might be stuff started. We’re hoping to get one out very soon.”

Slash told issue 10 of Planet Rock magazine last autumn: “I think in everybody’s heart of hearts we want to do a record, but we’ve been working so hard on the road that we haven’t really had the chance to sit down and focus on new material or anything like that.
