Japanese kawaii metallers Babymetal have announced a four-date February 2020 UK tour after performing with a rumoured new member at Glastonbury Festival over the weekend.

Babymetal’s original members Su-Metal and Moametal were joined by singer Riho Sayashi of Japanese pop group Morning Musume for their Sunday afternoon (30th June) slot at Worthy Farm in what was their first show since Download Festival in 2018.

Sayashi also performed at a show in Babymetal’s native Japan last month. It’s currently unclear whether she will be officially unveiled as Yuimetal’s replacement, or she’s just a touring member.

Babymetal performed an eight-song set at Glastonbury that included ‘Gimme Chocolate!!’, ‘Megitsune’, current single ‘PA PA YA!!’ and an untitled new song that will presumably appear on their third studio album ‘Metal Galaxy’, which lands on Friday 11th October.

They said of the follow-up to 2016’s ‘Metal Resistance’: “The album’s main theme is that Babymetal are on an odyssey to the Metal Galaxy and a different variety of songs are packed within the album. Welcome to the world of Babymetal!!”

As part of their Metal Galaxy World Tour, Babymetal play headline shows in Glasgow, Cardiff, Manchester and London in February 2020. They also play a previously announced show at London O2 Academy Brixton tomorrow night (2nd July).

Tickets to the February 2020 tour go on sale from Kerrang! Radio Tickets at 10am on Friday 5th July.
