He reveals why

Billie Joe Armstrong has revealed he performed at Mark Zuckerberg’s for FREE because he was such a big Green Day fan.

Despite Zuckerberg being worth an estimated $55billion, Billie Joe didn’t ask for a penny from the Facebook founder who he said was an “endearing” and “nerdy” Green Day obsessive.

“'Yeah uh, so I did perform for free,” Billie Joe told Watch What Happens Live chat show host Andy Cohen. “He was kind of like a huge Green Day fan, almost in a nerdy kind of way.

“Which was really endearing and uh, there was nothing about it where I thought that it looked like he had a ton (of money) the way that he lives, it fits his age, I would say. He seemed pretty mellow about that.”

Zuckerberg married Priscilla Chan at an intimate ceremony in the grounds of his San Francisco home on 19th May 2012. The event doubled as a celebration for her graduation from medical school.

Billie Joe also confirmed he sang the 21st Century Breakdown track Last Night on Earth at the nuptials – a song he penned about his wife Adrienne.

“Mark wanted me to play this song,” Billie Joe explained. “This song is one that I wrote for my wife of 18 years. It better be for her, or I'd be in deep trouble.'
