Following in the footsteps of May’s ‘Blame It On My Youth’ and last month’s 50-second musical blitzkrieg ‘Generational Divide’, blink-182 have shared another new song called ‘Happy Days’.

Dropping the single last night (1st July), blink-182 wrote: “It’s the 182nd day of the year which means it’s blink-182 day! To celebrate, here is our new song ‘Happy Days.’”

A stark contrast to ‘Generational Divide’, ‘Happy Days’ is a poignant yet uplifting anthem about longing for the good times to return.

In his trademark dulcet tones, Mark Hoppus sings on the track: “I want to feel happy days / All of this frustration inside of my brain / And I don’t know if I’m ready to change.”

Explaining the meaning behind the sublime song, Hoppus said: “It’s about coming from a place of frustration and angry and saying… ‘I want to go to better times, I want to go to a better place and I’m gonna leave all this nonsense behind and just find my zone.’”

‘Happy Days’, ‘Generational Divide’ and ‘Blame It On My Youth’ are all expected to appear on the follow-up to blink-182’s first ever UK number 1 album 'California'.

blink-182 through the years:

1992

blink-182 were formed in 1992, when Tom DeLonge entered a Battle of the Bands competition at high school and met drummer Scott Raynor. After befriending a fellow musician named Kerry Key and his girlfriend Anne Hoppus, she then introduced her brother Mark - and the rest, as they say, is history.

Blink-182 continue their extensive North American tour throughout July, August and September 2019 where they’re performing their 1999 album ‘Enema of the State’ in its unadulterated entirety alongside other gems from their distinguished back catalogue. Lil Wayne and Neck Deep are also on the line-up.

At the moment, there are no confirmed UK shows but fingers crossed they announce something soon! Their last UK tour took place in the summer of 2017.
