Brian Johnson has 'confirmed' he is back in the AC/DC fold and is recording a new album with the band.

Rumours that both Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd had rejoined forces with AC/DC exploded last August when photos emerged online that depicted the singer, drummer and engineer Mike Fraser outside Vancouver’s Warehouse Studios where Stevie and Angus Young were also spotted that week.

The rumours were intensified weeks later when JAM Magazine quoted sources who claimed that the new AC/DC album will be dedicated to the memory of Malcolm Young and feature his distinctive rhythm guitar playing lifted from recording sessions several years before ‘Black Ice’.

True to form, AC/DC have remained quiet about their future plans, however, grindcore trio Terrorizer have now claimed that Brian let the cat out of the bag when they bumped into him at an airport this week.

They wrote on Monday (28th January): “We ran into Brian Johnson from AC/DC at the airport today after the flight home and we asked him about the rumours of him being on the new AC/DC album and he said 'yes' and that he is 'sick of denying it.' So that was a cool surprise ending to the tour."

16 rock and metal albums to look forward to in 2019:

Rammstein - TBA

Frankly, April can't come quick enough for that's when Rammstein's long awaited seventh studio album is expected to drop. It'll be almost a decade since the release of 'Liebe ist für alle da' and we're needing plenty of new sounds. Factor in that Milton Keynes gig at MK Stadium in July and 2019 could well be theirs for the taking.

Brian, of course, was replaced by Axl Rose for the final European and North American dates of AC/DC’s Rock or Bust World Tour in 2016 after doctors told him to quit performing live or risk total hearing loss.

Phil Rudd was replaced by Chris Slade in 2015 due to his ongoing legal quagmire and subsequent house arrest.

It's currently unclear who will play bass on the new AC/DC album after Cliff Williams quit the band in September 2016.
