Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington hasn’t been one to mince his words recently.

First up, in an interview with Music Week, Chester urged those who accuse Linkin Park of embracing pop music for commercial or monetary reasons to “stab yourself in the face.”

Keeping up his violence-threatening ante, speaking to Kerrang! Radio’s Loz Guest last Friday (19th May), Chester told fans: "If you call us sell-outs, I’ll punch you in your f---ing mouth"

He added: “When you make it personal, like a personal attack against who we are as people, like dude shut up. That means that I can actually have feelings about it and most of the time my feelings are I want to kill you.”

Chester’s caustic comments didn’t go unnoticed by Corey Taylor, who has hit headlines himself for slapping a phone out of a fan’s hands at a gig.

Offering Chester sage advice, Corey said: "I understand where he's at. God, I would've never say it the way he did, but you get frustrated and you want people to embrace the evolution. At the same time, you should probably be very, very fortunate that people this far along the line still love that music you made."

Now, heeding Corey’s wise words, Chester has posted four tweets promising to change his ways.

Admitting that he agrees with Corey, Chester says “I’m human and sometimes take things to personally” before adding “Time to recalibrate my perspective. So I say to all of our fans... Thank you and I love you all. Peace, love and happiness.”

You can listen to Chester and Mike Shinoda’s full interview with Loz below where they also give an in-depth insight into the recording process, explain why their press trips leave them more tired than hiking up a mountain and Chester reveals how he diffused what could have been a rather intense shoot for ‘Heavy’.

‘One More Light’ is out right now. Linkin Park also hit the road this July playing a trio of UK arenas. To buy tickets head to Kerrang! Radio Tickets.
