Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor says he won’t be headbanging or jumping on the band’s upcoming live shows this summer.

Earlier this month, Corey broke the surprising news that he had broken his neck “a while back” without even realising it.

Posting photos of himself wearing a brace, the singer had two discs in his neck replaced during an operation and was forced to cancel the first few weeks of Slipknot’s North American tour.

Now, days before the tour with Marilyn Manson starts in Nashville on 28th June, Corey has given fans an update on his condition on Twitter.

Although it went “great”, Corey told fans there is “no headbanging, jumping” but he has promised to “sing my ass off.” This time next year he hopes to be back to 100% fitness.

Slipknot’s massive North American tour takes place throughout late June, July and August. They’ll then co-headline Ozzfest Meets Knotfest in San Bernardino in September and top the bill at Louder Then Life Festival in Kentucky before heading to Australia and New Zealand.
