Foo Fighters have recreated Dave Grohl’s infamous stage fall in Sweden almost exactly three years on.

Two songs into Foo Fighters’ show at Ullevi stadium in Gothenburg in June 2015, Dave Grohl miscalculated a jump onto a ramp and fell into a security pit, breaking his leg.

Despite heroically completing the gig while sitting down with his leg in a brace, Foo Fighters were forced to cancel a string of subsequent shows including Glastonbury before Dave returned to the stage later on in the summer on his custom-built throne.

Almost exactly three years on from their infamous last appearance at Ullevi stadium, last night (5th June) Foo Fighters arrived on stage to a hero’s welcome.

With the capacity crowd 43,000 cheering, a stuntman disguised as Dave strode to the front of the stage and spectacularly performed a fake fall into the pit.

Fortunately, an unharmed Dave and co. then launched into set opener ‘All My Life’ and completed their sprawling 21-song set without any accidents.

Foo Fighters took to social media after the performance to share a video of the fall, along with this caption ‘Not this time Gothenburg.’

Foo Fighters hit these shores later this month for a trio of sold-out shows in Manchester and London.
