Boasting one of its strongest line-ups in its distinguished 15-year history, Download Festival 2018 has officially kicked today in style.

After a damp start to the Friday, the heavens duly relented as the Download faithful streamed through the entrances at midday to grace the sacrosanct Donington turf.

Bestowed with the honour of kicking off the Main Stage were Blackpool pop-punks Boston Manor who stepped up to the occasion with a punchy set before Gothenburg’s prodigal sons Avatar injected a bit of metal into proceedings.
