Enigmatic Swedish rockers Ghost have unveiled their new leader Cardinal Copia.

Taking to Facebook this morning, the band shared a three-minute video and captioned it ‘We wish to inform you our new leader has arrived.’

The humorous clip sees Cardinal Copia arrive with an old school boom box on his shoulders as his predecessor Papa Emeritus 0 looks on unimpressed.

Speaking to Sister Imperator, Papa Emeritus 0 then voices his dissatisfaction with the decision to ordain Cardinal Copia claiming he is not part of the Papa Emeritus bloodline.

After a debate between the pair, Sister Imperator eventually persuades Papa Emeritus 0 to change his mind and he officially ordains Cardinal Copia.

Cardinal Copia is Ghost lynchpin Tobias Forge’s fifth Satanic incarnation since he formed the ghoulish band a decade ago.

Papa Emeritus 0 himself was only unveiled as Ghost’s leader in September 2017 when Papa Emeritus III was dragged off stage by two men during a show in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Ghost released their live album ‘Ceremony & Devotion’ earlier this year and are currently working on the follow-up studio record to 2015’s ‘Meliora’.
