The Grammy Awards sincerely apologise to Dave Grohl for live performance mix-up

On Tuesday, The Recording Academy issued a statement ‘confirming’ that Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl will perform a very special collaboration at next week’s ceremony.
Dave, who sang a stunning acoustic version of The Beatles’ Blackbird at The Oscars last year, was apparently lined up to join forces with “Best New Artist contender Anderson .Paak and legendary hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest.”
However, in a hugely embarrassing press release, The Recording Academy have now said that Dave won’t be part of the performance and they “prematurely” and wrongly announced his involvement. Doh!
The full correction reads:
“Earlier this week, we announced that Dave Grohl would be performing with Anderson .Paak and A Tribe Called Quest prior to confirming all participants. Dave Grohl will not be part of this performance. Unfortunately, our announcement was made prematurely. On behalf of The Recording Academy and AEG Ehrlich Productions, we sincerely apologize to all parties involved for our error.”
A true darling of the Grammy Awards, Dave has won 11 gongs with Foo Fighters plus further honours as part of Nirvana (Best Alternative Music Album for MTV Unplugged in 1996) and for his Sound City: Real to Reel soundtrack (Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media and Best Rock Song for ‘Cut Me Some Slack’ in 2014).
The 59th annual Grammy Awards takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday 12th February.
