Guns N' Roses odds on favourites to headline Glastonbury 2017
AC/DC, Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath are also in the mix
Just days after Glastonbury 2016 came to a very muddy close, bookmakers have revealed the artists they’re tipping to headline next summer’s festival.
Still yet to announce any headline UK dates since Slash and Duff McKagan rejoined the fold, Guns N’ Roses are odds on favourites to top The Pyramid Stage bill at 8/11.
According to William Hill, two-times Glastonbury headliners Radiohead are at 2/1 while Foo Fighters, who had to cancel their 2015 slot at the eleventh hour due to Dave Grohl’s broken foot, are not too close behind at 3/1.
Other rock acts in the mix include Red Hot Chili Peppers (7/1), Bruce Springsteen (8/1), AC/DC (12/1), The Who (12/1), U2 (14/1) and Iron Maiden (20/1).
“After yet another successful Glastonbury, all thoughts will already be turning towards 2017’s festival and it looks likely that a couple of recently reformed bands – Guns N’ Roses and The Stone Roses – may be headlining the Pyramid Stage next summer,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
Muse, Jeff Lynne’s ELO and ZZ Top were among the big name performers at Glastonbury Festival last weekend, which, according to founder Michael Eavis, was the muddiest in its 46-year history.
The Who, Metallica, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Paul McCartney and David Bowie are among the big name artists who have headlined Glastonbury since the turn of the millennium.
