Linkin Park have confirmed they have a series of “special things planned” to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their blockbuster debut album ‘Hybrid Theory’.

One of the most successful rock albums of the 21st century, ‘Hybrid Theory’ has sold more than 10.5 million copies in the US alone since its release on 24th October 2020. It has also spawned the colossal anthems ‘One Step Closer’, ‘Crawling’, ‘Papercut’ and the ubiquitous ‘In The End’.

Taking to social media over the weekend, Linkin Park confirmed their plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary milestone of ‘Hybrid Theory’ and called on fans to get involved.

“This year we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of Hybrid Theory. We have some very special things planned throughout the year and want you to be a part of it,” Linkin Park wrote.

“We’re looking for photos, videos, ticket stubs, merch, flyers, souvenirs and anything else you collected from the early days of the band in the late 90s through to the Hybrid Theory era of 2000 - 2002.

“Some great examples include – but are not limited to – live concert footage and photos, pictures of band members and signed goodies from LPU meet and greets.”

Aside from the Chester Bennington memorial concert at the Hollywood Bowl in October 2017, Linkin Park have remained on hiatus since Chester's death.

Linkin Park co-vocalist Mike Shinoda told Rock Antenne in February 2019, he’s open to the idea of the band continuing in some form.

"We all thrive making and performing music," Mike said. "I know the other guys, they love to be onstage, they love to be in a studio, and so to not do that would be like ... I don’t know, almost like unhealthy.

"As long as that connection and interest is there (with fans), I think that is our driving force to figure out Linkin Park."

Chester Bennington's pre-Linkin Park band Grey Daze will release their new album ‘Amends’ in Chester’s memory next month.

Among those who guest appear on the record are Chester’s 23-year-old son Jaime, Korn's Brian "Head" Welch and James "Munky" Shaffer, P.O.D.'s Marcos Curiel, Bush's Chris Traynor, and Ryan Shuck, Chester's bandmate in Dead By Sunrise.
