Metallica have shared professionally shot footage of their performance of ‘Master of Puppets’ at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium last month.

In true Manchester style, the heavens duly opened at Metallica’s Etihad Stadium gig on Tuesday 18th June but, as the footage below shows, the rain did nothing to dampen the incredible atmosphere – instead it heightened it.

Watch the blistering performance of ‘Master of Puppets’ in Manchester together with previously shared footage of ‘St. Anger’ right here:

The triumphant Manchester gig also saw Metallica’s Robert Trujillo and Kirk Hammett perform a cover of The Stone Roses’ ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ as part of their ‘doodle’ segment.

Two nights later at London’s Twickenham Stadium the bassist and guitarist shared vocal duties on a unique version of Iron Maiden’s ‘Killers’

Metallica also did their bit for charity at their two shows last month, donating £40,000 to Manchester based homeless charity Coffee4Craig, and cheques for £24,000 to two London charities City Harvest London and Magic Breakfast.

Alongside the donation to Coffee4Craig, the band also invited 20 rough sleepers to the Manchester concert via the charity Shelter.

The European stadium leg of Metallica’s WorldWired Tour resumes at Berlin’s Olympiastadion on Saturday night (6th July).

During the downtime between the Twickenham and Berlin shows, Lars Ulrich made his annual visit to Glastonbury Festival last weekend and shared photos on social media
