Music world pays tribute to Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington

Stars from across the music world have been paying tribute to Chester Bennington, who died yesterday (19th July) aged 41.

Chester’s death was first confirmed by The Los Angeles Coroner’s office, who said the singer had apparently hanged himself.

The singer’s bandmate and friend of over two decades, Mike Shinoda, later said he was “shocked and heartbroken” and news of Chester’s death was “true.”

Bassist Dave Farrell simply tweeted "Heartbroken."

Just before midnight, Linkin Park paid homage on their social channels by sharing an image of Chester surrounded by thousands of fans at a recent show. A full statement from the band will be coming soon.

Testament to his monumental impact on the music world, Chester’s friends, kindred spirits and fans from across rock music and beyond have been paying poignant tribute to him.
