A video from My Chemical Romance and Blink-182‘s 2011 Honda Civic Tour has surfaced online of Gerard Way joining blink onstage for a rendition of ‘First Date.’
The 10th Annual Honda Civic Tour in 2011 saw music heavyweights Blink-182 and My Chemical Romance join forces for an extensive 40-date arena and stadium tour across North America.
Blink and MCR were supported acts Alkaline Trio, Jimmy Eat World, Matt & Kim, Manchester Orchestra, Neon Trees, H2O and Rancid at select dates.
Midway through the epic trek, Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge was reportedly struggling with illness during the show at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan and asked Gerard Way to help him out on vocals.
Being the genial chap he is, Gerard Way duly obliged and lent his vocals to Blink-182’s rendition of 2001 ‘Take Off Your Pants and Jacket’ track ‘First Date’.
