My Chemical Romance kicked off their UK tour at the Eden Project in Cornwall last night (16th May) with a career-spanning 21-song set.

The sold-out show in front of 6,500 fans was My Chemical Romance’s first concert since they launched their reunion at the Shrine Exposition Hall in Los Angeles in December 2019.

It was also their first UK concert since they headlined Reading & Leeds Festival way back in August 2011.

Fresh from premiering their first new song in eight years last week, My Chemical Romance opened their Eden Sessions show with the rousing live debut of ‘The Foundations Of Decay’ – a track Mikey Way has hailed his favourite MCR song ever.

Two songs from 2013 compilation album ‘Conventional Weapons’ got their live debut – ‘Surrender the Night’ and ‘Boy Division’ – while ‘This Is How I Disappear’ had its first live outing since 2010 and ‘Make Room!!!!’ was performed live for only the second time.

The rapturously received performance was dominated by My Chemical Romance’s bombastic magnum opus ‘The Black Parade’ with six tracks making the set, while ‘Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys’ and ‘Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge’ were represented by five songs apiece.

Just one song from My Chemical Romance’s 2002 debut album ‘I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love’ was performed – ‘Our Lady of Sorrows.’

My Chemical Romance play a second show in Cornwall tonight (17th May) before playing a trio of shows in Milton Keynes and dates in Warrington, Cardiff and Glasgow.
