Neck Deep aborted their Nottingham Rock City gig after just two songs last night (9th October) following a fracas with security.

After successfully performing set opener ‘Happy Judgement Day’, the band were playing second song ‘Lime St.’ when a crowd member crowd surfed over the front barriers.

According to fans in attendance at the show, security got heavy handed and “slammed” the crowd surfer down prompting the band and their crew to intervene and tackle them.

Numerous fans have posted videos of the melee on social media that eventually resulted in the band walking off stage. In one clip a fan can been seen being tackled by three members of security on stage.

With the crowd chanting insults at the security, Neck Deep frontman Ben Barlow later returned to the stage to tell the capacity audience: "Security f---ed it. There was a fight. Show's over."

Following the show, Ben came out to apologise to a group of fans outside the venue. In a clip shared by fans on Twitter, he said: “That’s never ever, ever, ever happened at a Neck Deep show. I’m so sorry that you guys have paid and that’s what happened. Really f---ing sorry.

“That’s all I can say, sorry from the bottom of my heart, I never ever intended for this to happen and yeah I’m fuming, I wanna carry on playing the show, I want to be up there now.”

Patty Walters from support band As It Is hit out at security after the show, writing on Twitter: “Tonight was so f---ing unacceptable. Seriously, such a shame to see a great night ruined by security’s disgusting behaviour tonight.”

At the time of writing, both Neck Deep and Nottingham Rock City are yet to release official statements on last night’s incident.
