Nickelback axe North American tour due to Chad Kroeger ‘medical emergency’

Nickelback have been forced to cancel the rest of their North American tour due to a cyst on Chad Kroeger’s vocal cords.

The rockers still have over 40 shows to play on the second leg of Nickelback's 2015 No Fixed Address North American tour but have axed it due to Kroeger’s condition.

In a statement on the band's website, Chad said: "I am sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer and I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans.

"I am relying on my doctor and his team to help get my voice back in good form as quickly as possible."

The frontman is due to undergo surgery in 3 weeks time, following a period of vocal rest ordered by his doctors.

The tour is expected to resume with the European leg in September, with the UK dates in November still currently going ahead.
