Fire-loving industrial metal sextet Rammstein have officially confirmed they’re back in the studio working on new material.
Last month, fan site Rammstein World posted unconfirmed reports that members of Rammstein and their crew were spotted at La Fabrique Studios in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France where they recorded their untitled 2019 album.
Adding weight to this speculation, drummer Christoph Schneider posted a photo of himself on Instagram at Parc national des Calanques in Southern France, which is just down the road from La Fabrique Studios.
Rammstein took to Facebook and Instagram last night to validate the speculation and post two separate photos of themselves hard at work at La Fabrique Studios. The pics were taken by Schneider and guitarist Paul Landers.
Referencing their postponed summer 2020 stadium tour of Europe and North America, Rammstein wrote: “Sadly no tour this year - but it’s great to be back in the studio!”
If it’s a new album Rammstein are working on, fans will be hoping the wait is less than the decade gap between 2009’s ‘Liebe ist für alle da’ and 2019’s ‘untitled.’
May 2019’s Untitled Rammstein album spawned the singles ‘Deutschland’, ‘Radio’ and ‘Ausländer’ and dented the UK album chart at number three.
Earlier this year, Rammstein rescheduled their entire summer 2020 European and North American stadium tour for 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Their UK shows will now call in at Belfast Boucher Road Playing Fields on Saturday 12th June 2021, Cardiff Principality Stadium on Wednesday 16th June and Coventry Ricoh Arena on Saturday 19th June 2021.
In March, Rammstein singer Till Lindemann was admitted to intensive care, however the band were forced to deny a German tabloid report it was for coronavirus.
