Speaking to Kerrang! Radio’s very own Loz Guest, Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis has insisted he would never wrestle his band mate Chad Smith.

The Californian quartet appeared on a rapturously received episode of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke recently where Kiedis randomly had a wrestling match with the British host in a front garden.

Despite his spectacular triumph over Corden, Kiedis insists he would never have the audacity to take on RHCP man mountain Chad Smith.

Asked by Loz whether they ever wrestle to get their ideas heard in the studio, Kiedis said: “With Chad in the band it’s not a great idea. Chad’s a beast of an animal, he’s twice the size of anybody else in the band.”

Enthusing about James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, he continued: “From beginning to end it was a joy. There’s something special about that guy (Corden), his love for music is authentic.

“When he would put these songs on for us to sing along with you could see something going in inside of him where he just elevated, like that’s what fills his soul with happiness. I think he found the right job for himself.”

Amazingly, Kiedis added that he’s not one of the 16million people who have watched the clip on YouTube: “I haven’t seen it yet, I don’t like looking at those things that we’ve done. I’d rather just move ahead.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Kiedis heaped praise on the “creative juggernaut” that is Josh Klinghoffer, explained that the band almost didn’t release ‘Under The Bridge’ as a single, how being in RHCP is like “a marriage”, how maverick producer Danger Mouse revitalised the band, the recording of ‘The Getaway’ and more.
