Relentless Kerrang! Awards 2014 Nominations Revealed!
You Me At Six lead the nominations charge
The nominations for the Relentless Kerrang! Awards 2014 have been revealed!
Taking place at London’s Troxy on Thursday 12th June, the Andrew W.K. and Scott Ian hosted party will see the most eclectic bunch of nominees ever go head-to-head for prestigious honours.
After a phenomenal past year which has seen them top the charts with ‘Cavalier Youth’, Surrey’s finest You Me At Six lead the charge with five nominations - Best Single (presented by Kerrang! Radio), Best Album (presented by Relentless Energy Drink), Best British Band and Best Live Band, as well as Hottest Male (for guitarist Max Helyer).
Other big name nominees include Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Architects, Deaf Havana, Avenged Sevenfold, Tonight Alive, Behemoth, All Time Low, Bring Me The Horizon, Black Veil Brides, Metallica, Iron Maiden and Asking Alexandria.
Somewhat controversially, the highly divisive 5 Seconds of Summer will battle Crossfaith, Issues, State Champs and We Came As Romans for the Best International Newcomer gong.
“This is the third Relentless Kerrang! Awards I’ve presided over now, and I don’t think I’ve been quite this excited before,” says Kerrang! Editor James McMahon.
“There are bands nominated I love, legends lined up that I respect, and the party itself will contain some unforgettable surprises.
“It’s a testament to the strength and size of the rock scene right now that bands as diverse as 5 Seconds Of Summer and Behemoth, and Baby Godzilla and You Me At Six can galvanise a community to vote in their thousands.

Voting is now open and closes on Thursday 5th June – exactly one week before the awards kick off!
