ARE YOU READY?!

Yep, those of us gathered at the hallowed grounds of Donington next June can probably expect to be met with that iconic nu-metal battle-cry as KoRn are one of six new bands confirmed for Download Festival 2016.

With their 12th studio album in the works, the Bakersfield mob will make their welcome return to Download's main stage on Friday 10 June.

Also newly-announced for the opening night of music at the festival are the mighty Motörhead. Following the release of their latest album "Bad Magic", and a somewhat tumultuous time of late with Lemmy's ill-health leading to several gig cancellations, the rock 'n' roll icons will be looking to remind everyone just why are are (rightly) considered to be true legends of the genre.

Meanwhile, the main stage bill for Saturday 11 June is bolstered by Deftones and Megadeth. The former are just completing work on their eighth studio album and will headline the SSE Arena Wembley on November 21st before returning to these shores for Download in June, whilst the latter have confirmed a January 22 release for their 15th LP "Dystopia".

Finally, Download's Sunday line-up also sees two names added. Symphonic metallers Nightwish will be bringing their dramatic live sound to the final day of the annual rock pilgrimage, and they'll be joined by Disturbed who will truly cement their return from hiatus - a comeback which began back in August with the release of "Immortalized".

Download Festival 2016 takes places from 10 - 12 June, with previously announced headliners Rammstein, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden. Tickets are on sale RIGHT NOW via Kerrang! Radio Tickets!
