Slipknot have started teasing a big announcement for this coming Monday (4th March) at 5pm (GMT).

The Iowan masked metallers have launched a new website – www.wearenotyourkind.com – which references a line from their single ‘All Out Life’, which was surprise unleashed on Halloween 2018.

The site includes a countdown at the top to Monday at 5pm together with Slipknot’s trademark barcode 742617000027, which appeared on their rare 1996 demo album ‘Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.’

‘742617000027’ is also the name of the 36-second opening track on Slipknot’s debut studio album proper, ‘Slipknot’, in 1999 and it has also appeared on the band’s jumpsuits and merchandise.

Visitors to wearenotyourkind.com on a mobile are asked to share their location. Once you do that the date 8.9.19 is revealed – Friday 9th August – possibly hinting at the release date of Slipknot’s new album.

Users in America are reporting that the site uses your location to give you the coordinates for the nearest location where the band will purportedly play a gig. However, nothing happens in the UK.

Intriguing stuff! All will be revealed on Monday!

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor recently shared a photo of himself in the studio on Instagram, writing ‘Back to work…’
