Slipknot's Corey Taylor reveals he drank his own vomit in front of Marilyn Manson

The incident left Marilyn a little freaked out

Slipknot and Stone Sour singer Corey Taylor says he once freaked out Marilyn Manson by drinking his own vomit in front of him.

In a Rolling Stone interview on the eve of Slipknot and Marilyn Manson’s joint North American tour, Corey said the first time the two kindred spirits shared a bill together at Ozzfest 2001 was a much more debauched time in their lives.

Corey, who has been sober for 13 years, said: "I was pretty lit, pretty much for that whole tour.

"I do remember throwing up in a cup and drinking it in front of Manson and he kind of freaked out. He didn't really know how to take it.

“And then he ran into our dressing room in tighty-whitey underwear and kind of danced for us and kind of ran back out, and we were like, 'What the f*** just happened?'”

Laughing, Corey added: "We don't really try to f*** with each other, and when we do, it gets really weird.

"At the same time, there's a positive competition there that we both respond to. When we play with him, we watch him tear it down every night, and that just makes us want to tear it down every night, too.

“So there's a mutual respect that goes along with that positive competition that will make for great shows no matter where we are. To me, that's the best respect that you can show a fellow artist, especially someone you really enjoy what they do."

Expressing his boundless admiration for Marilyn, Corey added: "I love (Manson’s) music. I love what he represents. Even though it's changed a little bit in the last few years, I love the fact that he still tries to push boundaries and really tries to expand the range of what he can do.

"To this day I think Antichrist Superstar is one of the best albums ever made. I don't mean just metal, rock or whatever; I mean albums, full stop.

“It's one of those albums that I can listen to from top to bottom every time. I don't skip tunes. I don't pull up the ones I just want to hear. I don't even really listen to the singles. I listen to that album from top to bottom, because it still stands up just as much today as it did when it first came out."

Slipknot were forced to postpone the first two weeks of the Marilyn Manson tour after Corey broke his neck without realising it.

Although he has been given the green light to perform, last week he confirmed he won’t be headbanging or jumping on tour while he continues to recuperate.

The tour opens at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville tonight (28th June) and continues throughout July and August.

Slipknot will then co-headline Ozzfest Meets Knotfest in San Bernardino in September and top the bill at Louder Then Life Festival in Kentucky before heading to Australia and New Zealand.
