Identity of masked Static-X frontman 'revealed' thanks to neck tattoo

The identity of the mysterious mask-wearing frontman of Static-X has reportedly been cracked thanks to a neck tattoo.
Static-X first revealed their enigmatic new frontman to the world back in March when original members Tony Campos, Ken Jay and Koichi Fukuda announced the Wisconsin Death Trip 20th Anniversary tour in memory of their titular singer Wayne Static, who died in November 2014.
Explaining why they kept the singer’s identity a secret, drummer Ken Jay said in March: “We understand that people are naturally going to want to know more about who is singing.
“We have discussed this at great length and we came to the conclusion that at this time, it would be inappropriate for us to put the focus on anyone other than Wayne, Tony, Koichi and myself. It feels like the best way for us to celebrate Wayne’s legacy, along with the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip, with all of our fans.”
The band have been playing shows all over North America and Europe this year – including 10 UK shows which wrapped up last week – and Danish website Metal A Day believes they now know who the singer is.
Metal A Day has published a photo of the Static-X frontman alongside an image of Edsel Dope, the lead singer from Dope – the opening band on Static-X’s European trek. Check it out here.
From the two pictures, the giveaway neck tattoo looks absolutely identical.
Static-X themselves have yet to comment.

If true, the Static-X singer’s identity reveal echoes that of Slipknot bassist Allessando ‘Vman’ Venturella on 2014.
Venturella of Krokodil was unmasked by eagle-eyed Maggots who spotted his distinctive hand tattoos in the ‘The Devil In I’ video.
Corey Taylor later voiced his dismay at Vman’s identity being revealed, saying: “Somebody already pointing out the tattoos. I was like, ‘Why didn’t we make him wear gloves?’ I was so upset.
“We thought of all this stuff – we put the hood on him and then the mask, and he was like, ‘It’s really hot, guys.’ Then there’s his tattoos for everybody. We missed the mark on that one.”
Static-X meanwhile are set to release their new studio album ‘Project Regeneration’ in May 2020.
