Surviving Audioslave members perform ‘Like a Stone’ in tribute to Chris Cornell

Their Prophets of Rage bandmate DJ Lord filmed the performance

Footage has emerged of Audioslave’s Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk performing ‘Like A Stone’ in memory of Chris Cornell.

Public Enemy and Prophets of Rage turntablist DJ Lord shared the two-minute video to his official Facebook page, which shows the trio playing a highly powerful instrumental version of the 2002 anthem in the studio.

DJ Lord simply captioned the video “R.I.P. #ChrisCornell”. You can watch it here:

Consisting of Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave’s Morello, Commerford and Wilk alongside Public Enemy’s DJ Lord and Chuck D, and Cypress Hill’s B-Real, Prophets of Rage kick off their European tour in Nuremberg, Germany on Saturday (3rd June).

The 18-date summer jaunt also includes a slot on the Download Festival main stage on Friday 9th June ahead of headliners System of a Down.

Back in January, Chris Cornell performed with his Audioslave bandmates at Prophets of Rage’s Anti-Inaugural Ball protesting at President-elect Donald Trump.

Chris’s first performance with Audioslave in 11 years saw him sing ‘Cochise’, ‘Like a Stone’ and ‘Show Me How To Live’. He also joined Prophets of Rage on stage for set closer ‘Killing in the Name.’

Hours after performing with Soundgarden at the Fox Theatre in Detroit on Wednesday 17th May, Chris Cornell’s body was found in a bathroom in his room at the MGM Grand Detroit hotel. He was just 52.
