Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has revealed that Blink-182’s seventh studio album is finally done!

Travis explained that he, Mark Hoppus and Matt Skiba have laid down 26 to 27 tracks with producer John Feldmann and they’re now whittling down the final shortlist of songs.

Asked by Punkvideosrock when we’re likely to see the first single, Travis responded: “I can’t really give it away. It’s all there. The album is done, I’ll be honest with everybody.

“It’s just a matter of picking what 12 to 14 songs are going to be on the album. I think we wrote 26 or 27 so everyone right now is really pushing for their favourites.”

As revealed by Travis earlier this year, the band originally had an album’s worth of material set to go but scrapped it and started writing it again.

Since then Travis says they’ve been working ridiculously hard to get the album together: “We’ve been working 15 to 20 hour days, it’s been a lot of time in the studio and a lot of time with everybody in the studio – Matt, Mark and, of course, Feldmann and his team.

“I was literally at (Feldmann’s house) until 2am or 3am the day before The Grammys. I was recording Blink drums. I was like ‘I’ve got to go now and make sure I know my stuff for Pitbull because it’s coming up tomorrow.’ John was like ‘are you sure you don’t want to do one more?’”

Speaking about the benefits of having Matt Skiba in their ranks, Travis added:Just having someone who wants to be in the studio all the time with us has been amazing.

“I think the days of making great records with Blink, the proof has shown that it’s when we’re all in the studio together.

“Just sending tracks and ideas back and forth through the internet… I don’t know, it can’t be as collaborative as it should be. I love us all in the studio and throwing around ideas and really collaborating.”
