Trivium frontman Matt Heafy has performed an astonishingly good cover of Slipknot’s new single ‘Unsainted’.

Less than a day after Slipknot unleashed their epic new song, Heafy streamed his potent and emotionally raw interpretation of ‘Unsainted’ on Twitch.

Later uploading the footage to YouTube, Heafy wrote: “This cover was recorded during KiichiChaosKaraoke - a time where subscribers of my Twitch page choose a song for me to learn; timing down the pick by 5 minutes - auction-style.

“Once picked, the song has to be learned and performed in its entirety - immediately - no matter how long it takes.”

Highly prolific, fan-requested songs that Heafy has covered on Twitch in the last seven days alone include Metallica’s ‘Spit Out The Bone’, The Who’s ‘Behind Blue Eyes’ and Sabaton’s ‘The Last Stand’.

Slipknot performed ‘Unsainted’ and previous single ‘All Out Life’ on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Friday night (17th May). You can watch footage right here:

On Sunday percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan broke the devastating news that his 22-year-old daughter Gabrielle had died on Saturday.

He wrote: "It is with a broken heart, and from a place of the deepest pain, that I have to inform all of you that my youngest daughter, Gabrielle, passed away yesterday – Saturday, May 18, 2019.

"She was 22 years old. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. My family and I ask that our privacy be respected moving forward. Thank you. Much Love. Clown M. Shawn Crahan."
