A fitting homage to their good friend

Australian hard rock stalwarts Airbourne have shared the poignant video for their Lemmy tribute track ‘It’s All For Rock N’ Roll’.

The closing song from their 2016 album ‘Breakin’ Outta Hell’, the euphoric rock anthem was penned in homage to the late Motörhead legend who the band toured with several times over the years.

In keeping with the lyrical themes of ‘It’s All For Rock N’ Roll’, the video intersperses archive footage of Lemmy with Airbourne blasting out the track.

There are also multiple nods to Lemmy in Airbourne’s performance including, of course, a bottle of Jack Daniel’s and an empty microphone stand with two SM57's pointed downwards.

It’s not the first time Lemmy has made an appearance in an Airbourne video. Having struck up a friendship with Mr Kilmister on the road, he starred in the promo to their 2007 debut single ‘Runnin’ Wild’ as a truck driver.

Speaking about writing ‘It’s All For Rock N’ Roll’ last year, Airbourne singer Joel O'Keeffe said: “We were thinking about what Lemmy did and then it all started to roll in… Keith Moon, Bon Scott, same kinda guys.

“They lived hard and played rock ‘n’ roll their whole life. So this is a song that pays tribute to them and to everyone who loves rock ‘n’ roll. It’s for the performers, the road crews, everyone that’s in the circle – the people who give their lives to rock ‘n’ roll.”
