In possibly the most unlikely musical pairing of the year, Judas Priest’s Rob Halford joined forces with Babymetal on stage in Ohio last night (18th July).

Flanked by their band, the Japanese teenage trio performed two seminal Judas Priest tracks – ‘Painkiller’ and ‘Breaking The Law’ - at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus with Rob Halford sharing vocal duties.

You can watch footage of the seven-minute performance right here:

Before taking to the Alternative Press Music Awards stage, Rob said: "It's really cool to hear and watch such a strong young Japanese metal band make solid growth in the world with such unique conviction and invite me to headbang along with them for this special appearance.

“Further proof of the continuing power exchange from the roots of metal into the future metalsphere!"

Babymetal’s Su-Metal enthused: "Honestly, I am still at a loss of what to feel. But to be able to perform together with the Metal God, I am in disbelief."

Judas Priest hit the studio back in April to commence work on the follow-up to 2014’s ‘Redeemer of Souls’. The band are hoping to release the record in 2017.
