Neck Deep have premiered the music video for their new song ‘In Bloom’.

Not a cover of the 1991 Nirvana anthem, the song sees the boys from Wrexham shift musical direction into poppier and less punk realms.

Directed by Lewis Cater, the accompanying video, which has been viewed 342,000 times (and counting) in less than two days, sees Neck Deep perform the ultra-catchy track in front of a fetching pink floral backdrop.

Singer Ben Barlow says: “‘In Bloom’ was the very first piece of music we wrote for the new album and it kick-started the whole creative process.

“Originally it was writhed to be purely acoustic, and over time we built it out into a full band song. In many ways it set the bar and tone for the rest of the album. It is pretty down tempo for us, yet it builds throughout and climaxes in one of my favourite arrangements we have ever created.”

Ben added: “The video is pretty different too. In the past our videos have been pretty busy, so it was cool to strip it all back and work with more abstract imagery.”

‘In Bloom’ whets the appetite nicely ahead of the release of Neck Deep’s third studio album ‘The Peace and the Panic’ this Friday (18th August).

Don’t forget, Neck Deep are hitting the road this autumn on an eight-date UK tour. Tickets are on sale from Kerrang! Radio Tickets now.
