Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder has made a surprise appearance on stage with Sting and Peter Gabriel in Seattle.

The gig at the Key Arena on Thursday night (21st July) was the final USA date on Sting and Gabriel’s Rock Paper Scissors co-headline tour before it headed to Canada at the weekend.

Eight songs into the show, Eddie arrived on stage to a rapturous reception to sing on a version of The Police’s ‘Driven to Tears’. He had previously performed the track with Sting at a Pearl Jam concert in New York back in May.

Two songs later, Eddie returned once again to lend his trademark vocals to Gabriel’s 1986 classic ‘Red Rain’.

You can watch footage of both tracks below:

Rather than play two separate sets of their own material, the highly collaborative Rock Paper Scissors tour saw Gabriel and Sting explore each other’s tracks both separately and together including The Police and Genesis.

The Seattle show last Thursday boasted 25 tracks including Message in a Bottle, Dancing With the Moonlit Knight, Roxanne, In Your Eyes, Every Breath You Take and the ultimate Sledgehammer.
