Queens of the Stone Age have given their ‘Villains’ album closer ‘Villains of Circumstance’ an orchestral twist.

Appearing on Later with Jools Holland last night, singer Josh Homme and multi-instrumentalist Dean Fertita (tinkling the ivories) performed a stripped-back, yet highly powerful version of the track while flanked by four violinists and two cellists.

Watch the orchestral version and compare it to the original below:

Released at the end of August, Queens of the Stone Age’s seventh studio album ‘Villains’ stormed straight in at number one on the album chart.

The record was preceded by the single ‘The Way You Used to Do’, which has been a mainstay on our airwaves for the past few months.
