Weezer have surprise released a covers record featuring their take on hits by Black Sabbath, Michael Jackson, Toto, a-ha and more.

The band’s fifth self-titled album, and twelfth record in total, is alternatively known as “The Teal Album” and features a total of 10 cover versions.

Kicking off with their famous version of Toto’s ‘Africa’, the album also boasts Tears For Fears’ ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World’, Eurhythmics’ ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)’, a-ha’s ‘Take On Me’ and The Turtles’ ‘Happy Together’.

Completing the record are Black Sabbath’s ‘Paranoid’, Electric Light Orchestra’s ‘Mr. Blue Sky’, TLC’s ‘No Scrubs’, Michael Jackson’s ‘Billie Jean’ and Ben E. King’s ‘Stand By Me’.

“The Teal Album” precedes Weezer’s 13th studio album “The Black Album” that’s released on Friday 1st March 2019 and boasts the songs ‘Can't Knock the Hustle’ and ‘Zombie B—tards’.
