The MTV EMA nominations are out and Ed Sheeran ISN'T leading

Despite reigning high in the charts for most of the year, Ed Sheeran rather surprisingly doesn't get the most MTV EMA nominations this time around.
Instead, it's Taylor Swift who has ended up with the most nominations this year, having made a comeback two months ago. This year she is nominated in six categories including the non-gender specific, Best Artist, which sees her up against Ed, Ariana Grande, Kendrick Lamar, Miley Cyrus and Shawn Mendes.
Whilst Taylor leads with six, surprisingly it's 'There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back' singer Shawn Mendes who is up for five noms, with Ed trailing behind with Kendrick Lamar, each with four nominations.
Last week Rita Ora was announced as this year's host of the MTV EMAs, posting on Instagram the official account shared a photo of the pop star holding one of the awards on her head, dressed in a striking blue, strapless dress.
This year's newcomer Dua Lipa finds herself with three nominations including Best UK and Ireland Act, Best Look and Best New, whilst unsurprisingly Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee's summer anthem featuring Justin Bieber 'Despacito' is nominated for Best Song.
This year's MTV EMAs will take place at The SSE Arena, Wembley, London on the 12th November and no doubt it will be a fantastic evening with performances from your favourite acts.
Now that the nominations are out music fans are being asked to vote through the MTV EMA website.
