Beyoncé breaks her silence for the first time since giving birth to the twins

She made an announcement at the BET Awards

It’s been over a week since rumours first emerged that Beyoncé had given birth to twin babies with husband Jay-Z.

The singer announced her pregnancy in SPECTACULAR fashion with that Instagram post. Wearing a green veil and surrounded by flowers Beyoncé held her belly. She caption the picture “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. - The Carters.”

However since the twins have alleged The Carters have been uncharacteristically quiet about their new arrivals.

Now Beyoncé's broken her silence for the first time since giving birth to the twins. A statement from the singer was read out this weekend’s BET Awards, as she won BET Viewer’s Choice Awards:

“Thank you, BET, for this award and your tremendous support of Lemonade,” the statement read. “This has been a journey of love, of celebrating our culture, honoring the past, and approaching the present and future with hope and resolve. . . . Thank you to my mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, for being my biggest, biggest teacher and consistent influence. Thank you to my entire family for so much love. To my team at Parkwood Entertainment, thank you. And thanks to all the fans, my Beyhive, for riding with me. I love and appreciate you. And to everyone at the show tonight, you all look so beautiful. And at home, thank you, and have a wonderful, wonderful night. From, Beyoncé.”

Rumours are flying around that the couple have settled on names for the twins. Sources close to the couple have told MediaTakeOut, that they have called the boy Shawn Jr. after his dad’s real name Shawn Carter and the girl Bea, after her mum’s nickname
