Calvin Harris takes on Zayn Malik in latest celebrity Twitter feud
DJ Calvin Harris took to Twitter to defend his girlfriend Taylor Swift against Zayn Malik and things quickly escalated...
Following in Taylor Swift's shoes of letting it all air on Twitter, Calvin Harris took to the social media site to defend his girlfriend to Zayn Malik.
The former One Direction star seems to be spending a lot of time rubbing up people the wrong way on Twitter these days and got the Scottish DJ upset after retweeting a side-by-side article of Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift discussing the music industry.
Swift defends her decision to remove her music from Spotify while the quote from Cyrus is taken from a W cover story, in which she said, "I've made my money. If no one buys my album, it's cool. It's fine. I've got a house, and I've got dogs that I love. I don't need anything else."
Harris took this retweet as a dig at Swift directly and thus began a series of exchanges, some of which have since been deleted.
Calvin started with a direct tweet to Zayn stating, "You've made your money? Cool…f--- the 99 percent of musicians who depend on these services to survive right? yeah f--- em."
However he didn't stop there.
"If u don't get what it means when successful artist uses their celebrity to benefit every other musician and songwriter in the industry … stay out of my f---in mentions pls … While u kids are refresh voting teen choice awards there's some poor f---er in a basement making your new favorite record trying to survive … Meaning … stay out of things you don't understand."
Zayn didn't take to kindly to this, tweeting: "ha you just made an absolute fool of yourself … you clearly didn't understand what I just said either … so I suggest you calm your knickers before them dentures fall out."
Harris then seemingly wanted to stop the conversation spiralling further out of control and offered an olive branch.
However he then noticed Zayn's last dig about dentures and responded simply with "lol". Determined to have the last word Zayn then tweeted, "Oh and I write my own sh*t too d**khead".
Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift have been open about their relationship since this very public embrace when Taylor won the award for top billboard 200 album for 1989 at the Billboard Music Awards in May.
Zayn however is newly single after ending his engagment to Perrie Edwards.
This latest Twitter spat came the day after Zayn rubbed up 'Little Mix' fans the wrong way by responding to a tweet asking who had the best single 'Fifth Harmony' or the X Factor winners, with fans having to favourite the tweet if it was 'Little Mix' or retweet for 'Fifth Harmony.' Despite having been engaged to singer Perrie Edwards up until a few weeks ago, Zayn chose to retweet and upset the Twitterverse.
This is just the latest celebrity fallout. In the last few months we've had Louis from One Direction vs Naughty Boy, Zayn vs Louis, Zayn vs Naughtyboy, Taylor Swift vs Katy Perry, Taylor Swift vs Nicky Minaj, Little Mix vs Zayn, Zayn vs Little Mix and now Zayn vs Calvin. We're starting to see some repeat offenders!
