Demi Lovato is reportedly set to stay in rehab "for months" as she "focuses on herself" and her recovery after a suspected overdose last month. The 25-year-old, who was in the middle of a huge worldwide tour, released a statement thanking fans for their support and promising to "keep fighting."

Now, a friend of the 'Sober' singer has revealed that Demi is completely committed to focussing on her recovery after cancelling her upcoming tour dates.

The insider spoke to E! News, saying, "Demi will be in rehab for several months and is doing an extensive program to ensure she gets the help she needs," adding that she "hasn’t been in communication with anyone and is really focusing on herself."

However, they revealed that one person who is making sure he keeps up to date with Demi's progress is her ex-boyfriend, That 70's Show actor Wilmer Valderrama.

They said, "Wilmer has been in touch with the family and has been checking in on Demi’s status. The family is trying to make sure they eliminate all distractions and want her to be focusing on her health right now."

Demi took to Instagram after being hospitalised to thank her fans for their support, writing a lengthy word image which read, 'I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction.

'I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well. To my fans, I am forever grateful for all you love and support throughout this past week and beyond. I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery,' ending the message by promising to 'keep fighting'.
