Cheryl and Liam Payne kept fans waiting, but earlier in the month they finally revealed they'd chosen to call their first child Bear Grey Payne.

With a mixture of reactions from fans, it turns out the little one's name could have been very different if his dad got his own way.

To celebrate the release of his debut solo track 'Strip That Down', Liam popped in for a chat and told our Entertainment Team he wanted to call his son 'Arthur' because he thinks he would of sounded like a bit of a 'tank'.

Telling our Entertainment Team how he eventually got the name Bear, Liam said, "She (Cheryl) wanted a very interesting name and she wanted a name that people wouldn't forget when he leaves a room."

The former One Direction star also discussed his new music and revealed he is totally up for a 1D reunion with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan because there is a unheard album!

Admitting it's difficult to see how things are going to work out for each member, Liam said, "I'd like to think there was one (a reunion) and I think there deserves to be one. There was an album that wasn't toured, which I wrote half of."

He then added, "We need to write another album and do some more tours later on. But this is a nice time at the moment, I'm really enjoying myself."

Liam and the rest of the One Direction boys decided to take a hiatus after six successful years at the top.

After being assembled by music mogul Simon Cowell on The X Factor in 2010, the band finished third on the show but went on to become one of the most successful boy bands ever.

With hits such as 'What Makes You Beautiful', 'History' and 'Story Of My Life', the boys scored a massive 14 top ten hits, including four number 1s in the UK charts.

The group's last performance was on The X Factor final back in 2015 where they performed 'History'.

Relive the moment below:

Liam has now dropped his debut solo track 'Strip That Down' and is hoping to mirror the success of his fellow band mates.

Harry, Louis and Niall have all released material since the hiatus started, with Harry's album dropping just last week.

Liam's new single 'Strip That Down' is available for download now.
