Cast your minds back... It's the year 2008, Miley Cyrus is breaking out into a solo career, Hannah Montana is coming to an end and the Jonas Brothers' iconic bop 'SOS' is dominating the airwaves. To top it all off, June comes along and Miley releases her legendary track '7 Things'... But could the track in fact be about her ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas?
The former Disney stars dated for two-and-a-half years before breaking up in 2008. 10 years on from the song's initial release, the young Jo-Bro finally spoke out about the track, revealing a HUGE giveaway that it was about him - she wore a dog tag in the music video that he had gifted her while they were together! Shocking, we know...
Is '7 Things' about Nick Jonas?
Although Miley, who before this track released music under her fictional alter ego Hannah Montana, had never confirmed (or denied) that the track was about him, fans quickly put two and two together.
Speaking about the song, allegedly detailing the pair's 2008 break-up, Nick said he was "flattered". Asked about it in a 2018 interview, he said: "I've heard that rumour, I've never directly heard that from Miley but she does wear a dog tag that I gave her when I was 14 (in the video). I was actually kind of flattered to be honest because it's there forever and I know it's about me."

For those who don't know - let us refresh your memory a little... The words sing: "The 7 things I hate about you / You're vain, your games, you're insecure / You love me, you like her / You make me laugh, you make me cry / I don't know which side to buy / Your friends they're jerks / And when you act like them, just know it hurts / I wanna be with the one I know / And the 7th thing I hate the most that you do / You make me love you."
Sadly, the pair went their separate ways over the course of the next decade, with Nick adding: "I don't have a relationship with Miley now really, but that's not because we have any bad blood - we just sort of run in different circles."
Fans were, of course, left feeling ecstatic when Miley later took to her Instagram in February 2021 to share a throwback picture of her and Nick. Sharing various images of her old Instagram profile, giving us some SERIOUS 2000s vibes, the singer wrote: 'You just had to be there.'
