Taylor Swift is being sued for £27million

Taylor Swift is being sued for £27 million ($42m) over claims she stole the lyrics for one of her songs.

R&B artist Jesse Graham said he noticed the similarity between ‘Shake It Off’ and a song he wrote in 2013 (‘Haters Gone Hate’) after Taylor performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The 50-year-old says Taylor’s lyrics borrow from his song which has the phrase ‘haters gonna hate, players gonna play’.

Speaking to an American newspaper he insisted that ‘Shake It Off’ wouldn’t exist if he hadn’t written his song. It’s reported he asked to be named as a writer and that the ‘Bad Blood’ star pose for a selfie with him, which was apparently dismissed by Taylor’s team.

However he’s still pursuing the issue saying "this song is my song all the way".

Mr Graham runs a church organisation called New Day Worldwide and Taylor has just finished her '1989' tour.
