Twitter fail for beauty brand who mistakes Whoopi Goldberg for Oprah Winfrey
They have since apologised.
Established beauty brand Total Beauty spotted Whoopi Goldberg on the Oscars' red carpet last night and tweeted a photo saying "We had no idea @Oprah was #tatted, and we love it. #Oscars"
Quickly realising their mistake they deleted the tweet, but not before it had been screen-grabbed by some eagle-eyed users including NerdyWonka who tweeted "She is Whoopi Goldberg!"
While Whoopi was indeed at the Oscars, chat show legend Oprah Winfrey was not, in fact she was hanging out with her friend Gayle King and Gayle's daughter, watching the Oscars on TV. CBS This Morning co-host Gayle even took to Instagram to post a photo of Oprah's reaction, saying "We all love @whoopigoldberg but we don't all look alike Jeeeze!".
The Oscars took place last night at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, where Leonardo DiCaprio finally won an Oscar for playing Hugh Glass in The Revenant.
