The news comes just one day after Gigi’s bestie Taylor Swift broke up with boyfriend Calvin Harris.
A source close to the couple told E! News that the couple have had a rocky relationship and previously split up and then got back together a number of times. So there’s hope for fans of Zizi that the pair might reconcile.
The source added: "Gigi is really sad about this, though, and in a way would like to work it out. It's more about that constant contact with Zayn that she misses and they did get very close."
The pair made their red carpet debut together at the Met Gala in May 2016.
