Nancy is one of the most iconic characters in movie musical history. She's best known as being played by Shani Wallis in the 1968 hit Oliver! – the version that most of us know and love.

Come on – how can you look at that face and not immediately have 'As Long As He Needs Me' going round in your head?

While Disney are on their rather comprehensive reboot spree, they’ve decided to throw a remake of Oliver! into the mix as well – and they've got their eye on a MAJOR star for the role of Nancy.

Apparently, bosses at Disney are eyeing up none other than Adele to play the maternal role.

She already has an Oscar for providing the theme tune to the 2012 James Bond film Skyfall, and with her down-to-earth attitude she'd be a perfect fit for the role.

However, since she doesn't have any acting experience, Adele will have to audition for the part as bosses don't want to be seen giving preferential treatment.

Let's be honest though – she'd boss it!

20. The Lost City Of Z

2013's The Immigrant is sadly still waiting for a UK release, so praise be to the cinematic gods that James Gray's The Lost City Of Z arrived without delay. Based on the true-life tale of British explorer Percy Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam), this dense but always gripping biopic is part political drama, part family drama and part adventure.
On discovering the remnants of an indigenous society, Fawcett spent his life trying to prove his Amazonian finds until his unexplained disappearance in 1925. Containing one of the most beautiful scenes of the year, this undseen gem deserves, nay, demands your attention.

But Adele isn't the only big name attached to the new film, as Eddie Redmayne is in the running to play Fagin.

Having played Marius in the film musical Les Misérables, Eddie has already proven himself to be a fantastic singer and performer, and as a result has experience in such a project.

The film will apparently follow the style of the 2012 masterpiece, having the actors sing their parts live, rather than dubbing them over the top of the film in the editing stages.

The project has been in the works since 2015, and will be directed by Toby Haynes who previously worked on TV shows such as Doctor Who, Sherlock, Black Mirror and Hollyoaks.
