Dance duo The Chainsmokers have excited fans by teasing an announcement for their debut album and then confirming it a few hours later.

Despite them previously saying that "dance albums suck" they tweeted 'Hey pack stay tuned some really exciting news is coming'.

Then just four hours later they tweeted a photo featuring excerpts from interviews and tweets from fans asking for an album.

In the middle of the image is a title from youredm.com editor Peter Rubinstein saying, 'The Chainsmokers say their debut album release is "up to our fans".

Then at around 5pm today the DJs announced a US and Canada tour AND their debut album.

The tweet simply said, 'NEW TOUR + NEW ALBUM + NEW PRODUCTION = OUR MOST AMAZING SHOW EVER' with details on how to get the tickets.

So it looks like there will be dance album, which hopefully "doesn't suck" in the not too distant future! Although at present there's no name or release date.

The Chainsmokers have already announced some dates in the UK, including gigs in Edinburgh, London and Manchester and tickets can be bought from Aloud.com

Drew Taggart and Alex Pall AKA The Chainsmokers rose to fame after the release of their catchy 2014 single 'Selfie', followed by a string of successful songs including 'Don't Let Me Down' featuring Daya.

Most recently the pair have released their single 'Paris' which is currently at number eight in the charts.
