Drew Taggart and Alex Pall, otherwise know as The Chainsmokers have announced they have a new member.

Known for their electro house hits the newest member is an unusual addition, a drummer called Matt McGuire.

Aussie Matt has officially joined forces with The Chainsmokers who are currently playing some dates in Europe ahead of their Memories Do Not Open Tour in the US.

Matt is known for his covers which include everything from Calvin Harris to Linkin Park and of course he has already covered some of The Chainsmokers best songs including their current single 'Paris'.

Matt announced the news on YouTube last week explaining why he wanted to join The Chainsmokers saying, "it feels so organic to do it and it feels like the best thing to do."

Going on to explain how the entire team behind The Chainsmokers believe in him.

The news was then confirmed yesterday by the DJs themselves saying,

'This savage @MattMcDrums is gonna be joining us on tour! Welcome to the chainsmokers!' sic

The Chainsmokers will be starting their US tour in April following a few dates in the UK and Europe.

Since releasing their debut single 'Selfie' in 2014 the duo have been going from strength to strength winning their first GRAMMY Award earlier in the month for Best Dance Recording - 'Don't Let Me Down'.
