Doja Cat has updated fans on her recent throat surgery, following a warning that she might have 'some bad news' coming soon.

The singer took to Twitter on 19th May to inform fans that she was having an abscess removed from her tonsils and said: 'dr. just had to cut into my left tonsil. i had an abscess in it. my whole throat is f-cked so i might have some bad news for yall coming soon.' (sic)

She shared some disappointing news a few days later, revealing that she has now cancelled all of her 2022 festivals as well as her performances supporting The Weekend on his tour.

The 'Say So' singer took to Instagram stories to share a text post that said: 'Hi guys, I wanted you to hear it from me first. Unfortunately I have to have surgery on my tonsils ASAP. The surgery is routine but the recovery is going to take awhile due to swelling.

'That means I have to cancel my festival run this summer as well as The Weeknd tour. I feel horrible about this but can’t wait for this to heal and get back to making music and create an experience for y’all.' (sic)

Doja also shared more details and explained what had caused the problem with her throat, saying: 'my tonsils got infected before bbmas and i was taking f-ckin antibiotics but forgot that i was taking them and then i drank wine and was vaping all day long and then i started getting a nasty a-- growth on my tonsil so they had to do surgery on it today.' (sic)

The singer has since said that she is trying to quit vaping and had already started cutting down on how often she used her vape, adding that: "Normally I’d hit a thousand times a day and hit it two times instead."

Wishing Doja Cat a speedy recovery!
